Yup, I tried that as well. It saves you from the error but works as a Hyperlink to the document (not to the bookmark in the document). For instance, if my #bookmark is placed at the 2nd page of the document, it will land me only to the first page, always.– Rahul GuptaCommented Mar 7, 2013 at 11:30

That is very strange because I tried it out myself before posting. I just tried it again, are you sure your bookmark is working? Can you check the bookmark in Word? I made a bookmark on page 9 of a document, the link in Excel takes me right to it.– AmerCommented Mar 7, 2013 at 11:50

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. windows-7), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
