@This option - "Remote Desktop" is present only on Windows-7 x64 bit OS. This option is not present in Windows-7 32 bit. I tried looking for it somewhere else, but no luck!– goldenmeanCommented Mar 1, 2011 at 13:08

1@goldenmean, it is available in 32 bit Win7 (this is what I am running) but only to certain version of it (You can connect to computers running Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, or Windows 7 Enterprise) and not others (You can't use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to computers running Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, or Windows 7 Home Premium.). See windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/…– WindosCommented Mar 1, 2011 at 19:17

Given it sounds like your remote PC doesn't have a version of Windows 7 which supports accepting remote connection you might consider VNC. Personally we use UltraVNC. Install the server on your remote PC, and the viewer on you laptop.– WindosCommented Mar 1, 2011 at 19:30

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. windows-7), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
