The main grid can black out two or three times before it either blows the branch circuit off line or decides the short is permanent and shuts down for good. Lots of good gritty surginess while this is happening. Another is to have one of the HV lines break and fall through the LV house distribution. That cost our neighborhood a lot of electronic equipment (dishwashers and washing machines now fall in that category). Simple power cuts to blackout are rare here. | |
