do you have anything plugged in to it (e.g. external mouse/monitor)? if so, remove it– GantendoCommented Feb 16 at 4:03

have you tried reseating the RAM (if that is possible on the Lenovo P51s)?– GantendoCommented Feb 16 at 4:13

1. Can you enter BIOS? Press and hold F1 while powering on:pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/… 2. If so, try to boot from USB, e.g., with Win PE (as in Hiren's Boot CD) or Linux (as from Ubuntu Live), and check the internal drive of the laptop. It could be dead.– DrMoishe PippikCommented Feb 16 at 4:26

Thanks for all the comments. F1 did not do anything, it turned off too soon. What helped was letting it drain completely after taking out the removable battery. It started up, BSODd after 1/2h, and now won't start. I'm guessing motherboard issue, but I'll see if it's possible to re-seat the RAM just in case.– EugeneCommented Feb 16 at 18:22

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. windows-7), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
