Exactly what mechanism makes Windows 11 show a device is now the output device, but the sound does not reach the destination. There seems to be some error by design as it affects various devices and is not an issue on platforms like Android. Restarting Bluetooth regains audio, but does not solve the bug. At some later encounter the problem is back.

I should note that anything wired is fine, I have usb-c connector for some wired earphones and they were fine as does the audio plugs on the PC. It is purely a bluetooh issue and have tried 3 devices now and none work. Its as if there is some block between the sound on the PC and getting to the bluetooth devices.
