How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. windows-7), up to a maximum of 35 characters

Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.The path it shows at the top of the dialog exists and I tried to open up permissions up and down the path, still get the same error. Totally stuck.chkdskcan fix something. If not, add an image for the Properties of the problem folder, Security tab. Also of the Advanced dialog.Properties -> Securityand opened up permissions wide on a number of folders in the tree/chain, then rebooted. Still no luck. Haven't run chkdsk yet but I'm not sure how that can help with a permissions issue.
