Honstly, I didn't use it, and I don't prefer the original to any fork for any tool - the least dependancies is alway best for me - yt-dlp uses some kind of encryption brotli, certifi, pycryptodomex and relay on websockets when available - this may make it faster as you mintioned but cpu more consumption - again I didn't use it or even has benkmarks, I just see dependances now
