Why would some Outlook installations not open correctly formed "msg" file file? . ... II tried repairing the PST file, creating a test event on the the phone, and propagating it to Outlook;
(A) Try repairing the PST file with SCANPST - Found in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16 or in the Root section of your Outlook Program.
Make a backup copy of your PST file and then run SCANSPT and navigate to your PST file and run it.
