I don't think it is in sleep mode since the battery was out for like 20 minutes, there's no way it was getting power. It cooled off while the battery was out but soon as I put it back in it starts warming up again.– PJS1987Commented Jul 6, 2018 at 0:12

1That’s a dead motherboard. Time to get a new computer or have it fixed under warranty. You could purchase a different motherboard, but I’m not sure if it would be worth the cost or hassle. That’s an eBay thing and you never know what your getting. Often some goofball put the motherboard in an oven and called it “refurbished” then sold it for $300 to some sucker.– AppleoddityCommented Jul 6, 2018 at 5:19

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. windows-7), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
