  • I have connected and initialized a new 3Tb HDD via USB 3.0, moved my data from two old 1Tb HDDs into it. Now I removed old HDDs, connected a new one via SATA and... PC detects is as 2Tb unitialized partition + 1Tb unallocated space, detects no data on it unless I plug it back via USB... I'm in a trap now, is that the case you are talking here about? What am I supposed to do I wonder...

  • Yes, it sounds exactly like the described case. You will have to copy your data by connecting the external controller with the 3TB drive to a already working storage/PC. Copy your data there temporary, install the 3TB drive, install everything you need and then use a 1TB drive to move the data back.
