    Exactly what kind of "External NIC" is in question? Also, your gateware need to be on the same subnet. So you can't use 192.168.1.2 as a gateway out of 10.0.0.0. Commented Sep 1, 2016 at 15:08
  • The External NIC is an iphone as a hotspot. My internal IP is 192.168.2.*, with a gateway of 192.168.1.2, and some our servers we connect to are 10.*.*.*.
