3If your question is, "Is it bad to have mysterious green slime coming out of my laptop charger and USB ports" - yes.– Mark RiddellCommented Aug 21, 2016 at 16:15

1Can we have a photo of the battery just to confirm there is no leakage from it? Also what do you mean by "motherboard is clean and dry when I last cleaned it"? How did you clean it?– BurgiCommented Aug 21, 2016 at 16:21

as i mentioned the battery has been dead for like a year now and i've never used it since i lost hope for it. the leakage problem is more of a month old. i opened my laptop to clean it couple of weeks ago, i checked the motherboard for strange moisture and it was dry. also checked the usb and charging slots to confirm the source of leaking was not from the inside.– Joe MartinCommented Aug 22, 2016 at 14:00

the leaking is not from the actual port or "slot". it's from the cable that goes into the port. so clearly i'm asking if it's bad to keep using it even if i covered the cable with some sort of insulator tap?– Joe MartinCommented Aug 22, 2016 at 14:07

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. windows-7), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
