  • I was gonna answer with a bat at first but figured I should take a swing at google lol. Yea .bat or using an alternative program for the need with it built in seems the only way to go. For file copying you might be able to find an alternative file explorer. Although I could not find one with shutdown ability. Commented Jan 25, 2010 at 11:47

  • Two good answers here, I'm going to go with Poweroff for now, but this one is also appreciated - I didn't realise that bat files were so serial in nature.

  • They don't have to be, if you replace "notepad" with "start notepad" it will do it separately and continue. Making batch files process in order and waiting is one of the best benefits! Commented Jan 25, 2010 at 13:09
