Sungkyunkwan University and Microsoft Korea Hold Meeting to Discuss Mutual Cooperation Plans

-“We will apply various innovative cases of Microsoft to the university to enhance the quality of education, research, and administration.”

On Tuesday, July 2, our university visited the headquarters of Microsoft Korea located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and held a meeting to discuss cooperation plans and advanced cases between the two institutions. This meeting followed the first one held in May this year when our university invited the Microsoft Korea delegation.

Key attendees from our university included President Ji-beom Yoo, Vice President Kim Jae-hyun, Dean of the School of Business Lee Seok-kyu, Dean of the College of Software and Convergence Lee Eun-seok, Dean of Student Affairs Lee Jun-sang, Director of External Affairs Ji Sung-woo, and Director of Information and Communication Choi Hyung-ki. Representatives from Microsoft Korea included CEO Jo Won-woo, Director Yoo Hyun-kyung, Team Leader Shim Jae-kyung from the Education Business Division, and Manager Moon Sun-gyun.

The meeting began with a greeting from Won-woo Jo, CEO of Microsoft Korea. Team Leader Shim Jae-kyung then conducted a D&I (Diversity and Inclusion) session, presenting on the implementation of diversity and inclusion within the organization. Following this, they explored various cases applicable to our university through the introduction of Microsoft's advanced cases and AI technology, Copilot.

There was an in-depth exchange of ideas on plans for educational and research cooperation. A representative from Microsoft Korea expressed a strong commitment to ongoing cooperation, stating, “We hope that the continuous collaboration between Sungkyunkwan University and Microsoft Korea will allow both institutions to advance together.”

President Ji-beom Yoo stated, “We will strive to enhance the quality of education, research, and administration at our university by applying Microsoft's various AI innovation cases. We aim to provide students with a better learning environment and anticipate achieving even more through our continuous cooperation.”

Our university plans to further strengthen the cooperative relationship with Microsoft Korea based on the insights gained from this meeting.
