This is in no way unique to AA. And even if every airline answered the phone with a human being (even if it were the same highly-competent group that handles the Twitter account) the moment I pressed the call button on my phone, I'd still prefer Twitter for lots of small things. Typing is more accurate than talking, less disruptive, can be done while in the air or it's otherwise inappropriate to make a phone call, I have a written record of the communication, etc.

I too joined Twitter first to communicate with airlines (it was mostly Delta at the time), and it's still roughly half of my Twitter use (though I do use -- and even enjoy! -- it a bit for other things).

Twitter is ridicuolus (see my signature below! )

BUT, it is the ONLY way to communicate meaningfully with AA at this point-- d\yo a degree I don't even this is fully manifested itself to most-- even with the amount it's been discussed and hinted at here.

If you're flying AA, you need the twitter app on your phone. You're crippling your ability to get help otherwise.

Unable to book Economy class from PVG to U.S cities in Aug

Hi all,

Quick question:
Why I cannot book economy class from PVG to any U.S cities in August?
It only showed business class and first class.
I was wondering is that something related to prem econ coming up?

Thanks in advance~

I don't see this problem. There are many options to book economy in August from PVG. Be aware that it says "Choice" for economy.

I haven't personally checked, but this is somewhat odd as recently, another poster reported having troubles finding any economy class inventory to PVG during the month of May.

The various economy fare cabins weren't open for sale back then on AA flights to PVG in May, but since about 3 weeks ago they're open for sale now.

So I think it's possible that AA is simply waiting until a later date for pricing or whatever reason.

College travel

Those are the prime months that Chinese students travel to the US (Aug) to attend schools in the US, so they return to China in May and June. Pricing is always "different" during those periods.

I think AA system is glitchy as of late. I searched MIA to LAX earlier this morning and AA says they couldn't find any flights!

Yeah, I talked with an AA agent yesterday who suggested that with all the storm issues, there might be some issues with flights loading. I know that flights I've been tracking between DCA - BOS haven't been loading as they had been for the previous week or two.

Would you please specify the arriving city and the date you checked?

Thank you!

I searched again, it still seems no availability for economy.

Sure. I just randomly checked August 25, PVG-LAX. $1385 one-way. Didn't book it though.
