Super fun but fast-paced

The humor was exceptional and some great moments between father and son - but overall it was very fast-paced and frenetic. May be difficult for younger children to keep up. Some violence and potty humor but nothing too jarring.

Unsettling, kids found it ok

A very average addition to the series. It didn’t have the fun and freshness of the other movies, no layering of jokes for older kids/parents. A lot of physical violence generally and peril for a baby. There was something about the themes of this film that struck me as really inappropriate and unsettling. Adult man alone in a tree house with a teenage girl having secrets (with her legs spread open and him sunk into a beanbag, eyes at crotch height), kids babysitting babies left alone for predators, abducted babies who are then dangerously crashed into a contraction site. We view the minions like silly children, yet in this movie they mutate them and it’s not resolved what happens to those they have sacrificed. Overall a bit disturbing but if your kids are under 10 they’ll proberbly look past these issues and just enjoy it for what it is. As the parent I wasn’t super happy.

Best movie ever :D I wish I could rate more than 5 starts.

So, I watched the movie a couple of days ago and it was like the best, my favorite part was when Lamal Maxine and gru start singing also when at the very end before the song the minion said OH SHAT DA FAA, I was like dying of how funny it was.

Great for 9 year old, not for 4 year old.

Not as light-hearted and fun as others - significantly more violence/fighting scenes. Great for 9 year old, not for 4 year old.

Scary and violent.

This is the only Despicable Me movie I've seen so I can't compare it to others. This movie includes blackmail, threats to family, kidnapping of a baby, turning said baby into a cockrach-human with no free will, near death experience, explosions, violence, theft. Most of the humour revolves around laughing at others misfortunes. The story was mediocre at best. Not worth a watch for our family.

So much fun, I had to think hard to remember the plot!

This movie was fun from the beginning and didn't stop making us laugh until it was over.... and then we laughed some more as the credits rolled with even more minion antics! Even after that, there was a tease for another sequel to make us want more. Who doesn't want to see more crazy minion interaction? Gru, his wife, and the girls... oh, the baby boy as well, were fantastic, but without the minions, the movie would fall flat on its face! Plot.... I had to think a minute because the minions and the baby stole the show, lol! Once again we see how love and family can change even the worst people, even the mad scientist. Gru shows us how we can be, even if we don't believe in ourselves, as his girls and wife constantly encourage him. Even the villain of the movie seems to be touched and changed because of Gru's apology and sharing the changes in himself. Love, kindness, and family can change people!

A Great Sequel and Stand Alone Movie!

My son and I thought it was great! Sequels are usually iffy, but this had a lot of new elements, while also acknowledging and celebrating the characters from previous movies. We seriously laughed out loud throughout the movie!

Not for sensitive kids or parents instilling a respectful character

This movie was awful. Language: stupid, idiot, jerk, loser, coward. bullying of adult to children; plot is for the cockroach guy to kidnap a baby (and he does). So much manipulation and blackmail by children and adults. the minions could be such a fun cute movie even with some slap stick comedy but this is just too far. More of an adult film than suitable for children. gave my 6yr old nightmares.
