Austin is known for its outstanding collegiate facilities, but take a closer look and you'll see that we're more than just an award-winning college town. We proudly house first-class facilities for a variety of sporting events from triathlons and BMX to roller derby and Formula 1, you name the sport and we can host it.

At the Austin Sports Commission our mission is to generate economic impact by attracting sporting events and sports-related meetings to the greater Austin area thereby enhancing quality of life for all residents. Austin International Half
January
Join more than 7,000 runners for the Austin International Half, a fun and fast stand-alone half marathon boasting one of the fastest 13.1-mile courses in the country. Enjoy a point-to-point course with mostly downhill running that takes runners past some of Austin’s finest locations and finishes downtown near the Texas State Capitol.

Ascension Seton Austin Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K presented by Under Armour
February
One of the country's premier races attracts nearly 17,000 participants from around the world. Events surrounding the marathon include a 5K, live music, finish line festival and beer garden.

ATX Open
February-March
The ATX Open is the only professional tour-level tennis tournament held annually in Austin. The WTA 250 tournament returned to Westwood Country Club from February 24 - March 3, 2024. As part of the Hologic WTA Tour, the ATX Open is one of 50-plus events and four Grand Slams, spanning six continents, and nearly 30 countries and regions, reaching a global audience of over 700 million.

NASCAR EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix
March
Race fans will experience another unforgettable weekend of NASCAR in Austin, Texas when the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS), NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) return to Circuit of The Americas (COTA). The action-packed NASCAR at COTA weekend will Keep Austin Wheeled with the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix on Sunday preceded by the NASCAR Xfinity Series 250 and XPEL 225 on Saturday.

San Anotonio Spurs I-35 Series
March
The I-35 Series returned to Austin with two San Antonio Spurs hosted home games at the Moody Center on March 15th and 17th, 2024. The San Antonio Spurs I-35 Series is part of the team’s vision to purposefully engage and celebrate their entire Spurs following from Mexico to Austin.

MotoGP Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas
April
Austin's long-standing motorcycle heritage, coupled with COTA's cutting edge racing facility, ensures that audiences can expect a jam-packed weekend of world class two-wheeled excitement on track alongside an incredible schedule of off-track entertainment. In addition to the Moto2 and Moto3 classes, MotoAmerica brings its signature brand of star-spangled motorcycle racing to the track, filling out a stacked lineup of the world's greatest motorcycle riders.

Copa America Tournament
June - July
One of the longest-running and most prestigious soccer tournaments stopped in Austin during it's 2024 run. Of the 32 total matches, two matches were hosted at Q2 stadium.

FIA World Endurance Championships (Lone Star Le Mans)
September
As the only World Endurance Championships round taking place in North America, watch as the world's most extreme, top-performing cars go head to head in a six-hour-long endurance race at Circuit of The Americas. 

Formula 1 United States Grand Prix
October
Formula 1 is back in Austin this November for another edition of the United States Grand Prix! World-class racing and entertainment from music superstars combine for the can’t-miss party of the year at Circuit of The Americas.

U.S. Men's National Team vs. Panama
October
The U.S. Men's National Soccer Team will take on Panama at 8:00 p.m. at U.S. Soccer's Hispanic Night hosted at Q2 Stadium in North Austin. The USMNT has never lost a match at Austin's Q2 stadium, so come out and show your support.
