I have issues with this book due to the fact that I find its structure quite unhelpful particularly for those wanting to learn WP7 programming. Oddly enough it starts programming example with Cloud Database which by any measure is a relatively advanced topic that deserves to be from mid to end of chapter for such books. On the other hand, topics such as 'Isolated Storage' and 'Application Bar' which are expected to be covered early on in the book come towards the end.

Overall, the important topics seem to be put together almost at random rather than based on a well thought out pedagogic approach to the subject of Windows Phone 7 Programming. Luckily there are numerous WP7 books with a good approach, i.e., well-structured for progressive learning from the essential basics to more advanced topics.

It was a great start, however soon into the book the code and technique started to become outdated. Some of the downloaded code does not work and the chapter using the Azure SQL server required a lot of online research to attempt to finish. I did not get through that chapter and have simply placed another unread book on the book shelf.
This book would be great with an update.
