It's been mere days since Stanley Tucci wowed the internet with his utterly mesmerising Negroni tutorial. If you missed it, you absolutely need to watch it.

Thankfully, we didn't have to wait long for another bite at the proverbial cherry (maraschino, of course). He's back, making a martini this time on Late Late and it's predictably relaxing and oh so soothing. Tucci revealed that cocktail hour happens at 5 p.m. every night in his household. So, err, we'll be coming over as soon as lockdown is lifted.

"We're not gonna shake it, we're actually gonna stir it," Tucci begins. "It's the opposite of what James Bond likes." A bold choice, you might say.

He starts off by taking some ice and placing it inside the shaker. Tucci recommends adding a half shot of vermouth — but you can add more if you prefer — before giving it a good stir.

The vermouth has now infused the ice, so your next step is to use a strainer to pour away the vermouth. Next up: vodka. "We'll do a shot...really like two shots," said Tucci. Pour it over the vermouth-infused ice. Then stir again.

Then, you simply let it sit for a minute or so. Give it another little stir. Using your strainer, pour it into a martini glass, take your lemon rind and rub it around the edge of the glass before plonking it into your drink.

Cheers, Stanley!
