Residence halls

MIT residence halls are available for use by conference attendees and their guests from mid-June through early August. These residences provide a low-cost alternative to local area hotels and are centrally located to many local area attractions and to public transportation. Most are situated along the banks of the Charles River and offer views of the river and the Boston skyline.

Single and double accommodations are typically available in non-air-conditioned buildings with shared bathrooms – one women’s and one men’s per floor.

By city ordinance, smoking is not permitted inside any building on the MIT Campus.

Reservations

Residence hall stays may be managed in one of two ways. Organizers may work with MIT Conference Services to arrange a room block and submit a master rooming list. Alternatively, MIT Conference Services can manage the reservation process, working with individual guests directly to make bookings, collect payments, and confirm arrangements. Due to the large amount of summer activity, requests for sleeping rooms on campus should be made well in advance of the conference dates.

A note regarding youth groups: all overnight guests must be 14 years old and a minimum staff to student ratio of 1:10 is required.
