The 128-bit era is a video game era when the Sony Playstation 2 dominated the console market. It is the current era of video gaming. The Gameboy Advance, Nintendo GameCube, Microsoft Xbox, and Nuon have also been part of this era. The Sega Dreamcast launched during the 32-bit era, the predecessor of the 128-bit era, and lived onto the 128-bit era. Sega Dreamcast suffered the same fate in the United States as its ancestor the Sega Master System did, suffering early discontinuation in the United States. The 128-bit era is also an era when NES and SNES ROMs became easier to find.
