Welcome to the October issue! At 781 words, it will take you only 6 minutes to catch up on all the latest from Astroscale.
Bon voyage ADRAS-J!
We've shipped ADRAS-J from our satellite manufacturing facility in Tokyo to Rocket Lab’s Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand. We'll miss seeing ADRAS-J in our clean room, but we can't wait to launch and start this pioneering mission!
A step closer to COSMIC
Doing it for the kids! 💫

Our UK team has successfully completed the System Requirements Review for COSMIC, a servicer satellite being developed with funding from the UK Space Agency to remove two UK-licensed inactive satellites.

This important milestone validates our mission to help secure a sustainable space environment for future generations and is a significant step for the UK Government's ambition to lead the global effort to clean up space.

To celebrate this milestone, we’ve released a short video featuring future Space Sweepers – after all, they’re part of the reason we do what we do!

Fueling growth
Not only is our UK team developing game-changing technologies, but they're also making game-changing contributions to the UK space industry!

Check out the groundbreaking insights from an Economic Impact Report that focuses on our “End-of-Life” service, ELSA-M. ELSA-M will enable low Earth orbit constellation operators to act responsibly in space, demonstrating its significant contribution to the UK space ecosystem.

The report underscores Astroscale UK’s role in enabling growth in the UK’s space economy and aligns with the UK Government's National Space Strategy to propel the nation towards becoming one of the most innovative and attractive space economies.
Choose Toulouse
Astroscale France has selected Toulouse as its permanent location with plans to set up satellite AIT facilities and space to hire up to approximately 30 personnel while maintaining a smaller office in Paris for business development. We are excited to join Toulouse's vibrant space ecosystem!
10 years strong
We were so thrilled to host Part I of Astroscale’s 10-year anniversary VIP event at our headquarters in Tokyo! Guests from industry, government, JAXA, and academia joined us for a day of celebration. We also had a very special visit from former astronaut Mamoru Mohri, whose handwritten note to our Founder & CEO, Nobu Okada, as a teen inspired him to establish Astroscale. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable occasion!

Around the world

  • Nov. 21-23: We are excited for the UK Space Conference! Stakeholders in the UK will gather in Belfast and Astroscale is proud to be a sponsor. Meet us at booth J1 and learn more about the progress of our UK ADR mission, COSMIC, and how we are contributing to the UK space industry.
  • Nov. 27-Dec. 1: We will be on the exhibition floor and taking the stage at Nihonbashi Space Week, so come join us for five days of space in Tokyo! Did we mention registration is free?
“What we talk about having is a circular economy on orbit — to re-use and recycle and build on orbit. And the capabilities we’re all creating will make that economy a reality.” Wise words spoken by the President of CONFERS who also happens to be our COO, Chris Blackerby, during the 6th Global Satellite Servicing Forum in Washington, D.C. It was fantastic to connect with the international community driving the sector forward and we can't wait to see you next year!
The UK team had a great time at New Scientist Live in London together with the UK Space Agency, talking to the public and younger generations about the space debris issue and how we are developing a solution to tackle this problem. Throwback to the highlights in this video!
