I took my family to view the Slave museum at the Albert...
I took my family to view the Slave museum at the Albert Docks. Its a Journey for many people to go and see. Liverpool was built on the backs of slaves. And I thank Liverpool and its people for not shying away from its past. (its not Just about the Beatles :) ) The bus tours was fantastic however the tour guide should have mention more about the old buildings linked to slavery. Liverpool is a lively city which caters for everyone. No matter which way you look or which direction you walk in there is something to be seen. From a river trip on the Mersey with a knowledgeable guide to an open top bus round the city with a tour guide with a great sense of humour, make time to enjoy them both. Numerous statues commemorating the history of the city are spotted around. Whatever you like - music, museums, art, food or even shopping you will find something. One day is not enough. Loud, very noisy place, dirty, full of buggers, being next to museum( that close to lime train station) but has not sign which way is an entrance, a lit if crime, stabbing... it is dangerous place, not enough of fitting rooms for 8 existing only three were for use... Liverpool is a unique place for people from all over the world and rest of the UK. It has the waterfront, the ferry, the beaches to the north of the city, the architecture to the south. Staff were off-site but very responsive to emails with any questions we had during our stay and always courteous and friendly. There's the Malmasson hotel downstairs for drinks and food, as well as the Sainsburys Local nearby. We also got a takeaway delivered no problem. Every member of the group of 4 commented on how great the property was and helped contribute to a brilliant weekend. :-)

Liverpool One shopping centre and restaurants are also nearby. Our room was large and there was an ironing board and iron (not that I needed them).
