(NICHOLASVILLE, Ky.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team opened play in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Division III Championship on Tuesday in Nicholasville, Kentucky. The Tartans carded a team score of 298 and are currently in second.

How it Happened:

  • Graduate student Alexis Sudjianto fired a one-under par 71 on Tuesday to lead the Tartans and is currently tied for second individually in a field of 150 golfers.
  • Freshman Nikita Jadhav fired a one-over par 73 and is tied for ninth on the individual leaderboard.
  • Freshman Samantha Wang entered the clubhouse with a four-over par 76.
  • Two Tartans, junior Sriya Mupparaju and junior Kaylin Yeoh, shot 78 for the first round.

Up Next:

  • Second round play is set for Wednesday with the Tartans tee times set to begin at 12:40 p.m. with Mupparaju the first out. Following 54 holes of competition, the field will be pared to 15 teams and the top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete in the final day.
