Women’s Golf Receives Bid to NCAAs

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team has been selected to compete in the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships. This year's championships will be held May 21-24, in in Nicholasville, Kentucky at the Keene Trace Golf Club. Transylvania University will be hosting the four-day event.

This marks the Tartans fourth straight appearance and fifth in program history. The Cardinal and Gray have placed fourth the last two seasons and in 2021 posted their highest finish as the national runner-up. In 2018 the Tartans placed fifth.

A total of 151 participants will compete at the 2024 championships. Twenty-four conferences have been awarded automatic qualification with five more teams will be granted at-large bids, two in Pool B (independent institutions/institutions that are members of conferences that do not meet the requirements for automatic qualification) and three in Pool C (institutions from automatic-qualifying conferences that are not their conference champion and the remaining teams in Pool B). Six individuals, not from selected teams, also were selected for the championships.

The Tartans currently rank first nationally in the latest Division III rankings. Play begins on Tuesday, May 21 and following the third round, 54 holes of play on Thursday, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete the final day on Friday, May 24.
