Need we say more. Cheap thrills! Fun flick but don’t kill it with trying to understand the hidden meaning. There isn’t one. Still, not a bad film.

Intriguing, spellbinding, a great Film Noir. The ending was whacked, and not well thought out other wise I would have rated it 5 stars.

Subject: Historically Interesting
An historically interesting film. The stilted dialogue common to the period seems to be a reaction to the war's end and reflects the hesitation and uncertainty prevalent throughout the country. The jubilation and false euphoria surrounding the termination of the massive conflict of ideas and attitudes brought a sense of unreality to everyday life.

Subject: Good, until... the end.
Claire is a man-hungry dame who stomps on anyone and everyone to get what she wants. Then when she has it, she doesn't want it any more.
The story moves at a good pace and is told without an over use of dialog.
She marries one man for his money while professing her love for another man while still in her wedding dress. Before the honeymoon is over, her husband finds out just what kind of gal he has married and he leaves her at the hotel after throwing money in her face to "pay for the room".
One of the funnier moments for me was when Claire was interviewed by the police after the death of her husband. When the police man asks her if she and her husband had any problems. She replies, "Every minute of our married life were supremely happy!" The cop answers very seriously, "The entire week, eh?"
The lovely Claire proceeds to wreak havok on a few other men, until... well you will just have to watch to find out!
The ending feels very rushed to me. It was goofy... and, as another reviewer states, the closing line is a hoot.
SPECIAL NOTE!!! Russ Vincent plays "Blackie Talon" a pilot who aids our evil woman in her time of need. He seems to be doing a goofy impression of Humphrey Bogart! Too strange!!!!!!

Some great Noir dialogue; fast, biting remarks. Over all a great flick for idling time away....

Not bad. Leslie Brooks is good in this little drama, but I loved her in The Scar which can also be found here. In that she plays Virginia Taylor, the classy date of gangster Johnny Muller (Paul Henried), thinking he's someone else.

Subject: Perfect
The only thing they didn't show was who came to take the trash out after everyone else left the room. The confession scene was not at all credible, but the rest of the film worked just fine for me. I usually avoid noir-ish films and other dark things as too depressing, but this was just what I needed this evening. Thanks, and good night.

The camera work is very basic, the lighting perfect for film noir, and the femme fatale eats up the scenery without being manic.
It was a good way to spend 75 minutes on a rainy night with take out food.
The last line was worth waiting for.

Great B picture, full of zippy lines, incredible plot twists and competent acting. Can picture this being made at Warner Bros. in the late 40s with, maybe, Alexis Smith or Bette Davis as the chilly towhead and George Brent or Robert Alda as her discarded newspaperman boyfriend. But this version is no less enjoyable. One of the few film noirs with a woman as a main character. Love it!

Enjoyable to watch, but the plot was pretty transparent. Worth seeing for the ridiculous closing line.

Subject: Robert Paige & Leslie Brooks Excellent in "Blonde Ice"
An excellent plot, good acting by the principal actors Robert Paige, Leslie Brooks, and supporting cast, make this a good movie to see. Leslie Brooks, in particular, lifted this movie up to a higher level by her excellent portrayal of a complex character. I believe Leslie Brooks retired from film in 1949, a year after this film was released. Again, a very, very good low budget movie.
