Tight out of the box, but the battery life is fantastic
To start with the cons (or rather, the only con), these headphones are really tight out of the box. Supremely, uncomfortably tight, regardless of glasses or contacts. My solution was to just bend them out of shape -- the band is REALLY sturdy, but I got them to open into more of a straight U shape than the more Ohm-ish Ω shape they came in by bending open just the ends. That's the only reason for 4/5 rather than 5/5.The biggest pro for me is the battery life. I use these in tandem with a standalone mic while gaming, but I also take part in D&D sessions that usually run a bare minimum of 3 hours, and being leashed to a wired headset was driving me nuts. In the two weeks I've had these so far, I've used them for anywhere between 1 and 7 hours straight pretty regularly, and I've only had to charge them once. Once! One time. Audio is perfectly fine while charging as well. The sound is also great -- I'm not an audiophile or anything, but music doesn't sound flat no matter what genre, and the bass sounds nice. When I'm listening to people talking (which is 90% of what I'm listening to through these), they all sound just fine, too. The Bluetooth range is pretty impressive; I took the advice of someone else in the reviews for these headphones and got an aptX USB adapter, and I can get pretty far from my PC (or "behind" a fair number of walls) before sound starts cutting out. The "onboard" mic is decent for phone calls, but I suggest disabling this headset as a communications device if you connect it to your computer, because the communications device mode nukes sound quality across the board. With that disabled, though, there are no sound quality issues at all, and again, all audio I've had playing through these has sounded fantastic to me.And on top of everything, these look really, really fantastic. The gold metal details are all metal rather than painted plastic, and the charging cable has the same hatched pattern engraved as the tips of the band. The 3.5mm cable included is the first time I've ever thought, "wow, that's a gorgeous cable," because it really is. Everything in the box feels like it was designed to be cohesive, rather than just a nice headset tossed into a box with two black cables -- which I suppose is a low bar, but nevertheless, it all looks really, really good. The headphones fold up to be really small (even after I bent them open) and I have no problems fitting them in a smaller bag or pocket, plus they're reasonably light. The volume/next/previous button is really cool and clicks really satisfyingly. All in all, they look fantastic, sound great, and fit just fine after some loosening.

Honestly was looking for an inexpensive upgrade to my wired cans and read some reviews on the Marshall Major II BT. Wireless earbuds were uncomfortable for me to wear for prolonged periods and a nice light weight over-the-ears headphones were my best alternative. Its retro looks are as comfortable as they look are are easily adjustable to a range of head types. Other reviews indicated a very limited and unbalance mid range with over powering bass. I found it to be the opposite where the fidelity of the the sound was superb regardless of the music ...combined with the formed fitting ear cushions/pad - listening was just a pleasure. BT syncing was effortless as well as the convenient toggle switch to handle phone calls, music selection, and volume levels. MSP is $149 - but $68 on amazon made this a steal of a deal. One of the best $68 dollars Ive spent in awhile. For its sound delivery, looks, controls, BT features, and its rock bottom price..cant go wrong on these headphones.

Amazing pair of wireless cans for sub USD100. Although the bass is not that powerful but good for the mid-high frequencies. Did not crackle with heavy bass, but just did not have that omph! Just got them so cannot really ascertain the longevity of the cushion pads and leather coverings. Both wireless and wired connections sounds ok and the control buttons needs some getting used to, but otherwise works well with the iphone device.

There may be some feedback earlier on the pads coming off easily. Well, all i did was to remove the pads, stick a tiny bit of Blue-Tac/sticky tape behind and it never come off again.

There was also a feedback on poor bluetooth calls quality and guess what, it worked just fine for my set. In actual fact, I got a same pair 6 months back from THAT famous China website and claimed to be the original set. The box, packaging and accessories were top notched and you can hardly tell the difference. The leather and cushion feels authentic but the sound was a bit muffled. Worse, the LEFT and RIGHT audio was reversed! Bluetooth audio calls was very kinda bad with lots of static, so I'm guessing the earlier reviews had THIS version...

After getting this set from Amazon, I compared them side by side and to be honest, the differences are very subtle. Was very worried that the set from Amazon would arrive in the same condition as the China website (Marshall headphones are made in China, I think) but very glad that my fears was unfounded. Would have gotten the brown unit, but the cost difference was kinda high.

Let me start off by saying this: the Marshall Major II are one of the best and the most comfortable headphones that I have used. The lightweight design, coupled with the padded, comfortable ear cups make this headphones a daily driver for me. I can go on hours with these headphones just listening to music. However after some time, the ear does seem to get a little fatigued but just taking them off for a few seconds takes the fatigue away and you can resume for hours. This is bound to happen since they aren't over-the-ear headphones. All in all, the comfort and the lightweight design are absolutely amazing.
The music from these headphones is amazing and I have experimented a lot of different types of genres. You can listen and appreciate the low guitar riffs on country songs and also enjoy the nice bass on hip hop songs. The bass on these is perfect in my opinion but again, I am not a bass-head. Watching movies and TV shows is very enjoyable since the drivers on these headphones are specially designed and the sounds are very clear and precise. All in all, I would definitely recommend these headphones and are a must go for anyone who wants to take their headphone game to the next level!

No grandes)

5.0 out of 5 stars Steal for the price
Reviewed in India on February 3, 2019
At the outset, I don't belong to that mystic race of men who go by the moniker 'Audiophiles' and as such, this is a layman's review so please don't stone me to death O Gods of All Things Sonic. Having thus offered my tribute to the standard bearers of sound quality, here's my humble review.

I bought these headphones as an upgrade from Creative Soundblaster Jam which were my first proper Bluetooth headphones and have served me well over the last nearly 3 years. The only true reason I was looking for an upgrade was the battery life which has, as is natural, somewhat diminished over the last 3 years. The other minor reason was that after almost three long years, I was yearning for a change.

When I started doing my research, the first headphones I came across was the Sennheiser 4.40s but most of the reviews were talking about the sound output not being that great, especially the bass. Besides someone in my friend's circle grabbed a pair of Sennheiser 4.50s at a sale for the same price as the 4.40s and those come with Active Noise Cancellation. So I say 'nay' to the Sennheisers and continued my research.

This is when one of my friends, a quasi-audiophile, introduced me to the Marshall brand (honestly I hadn't even heard about the brand and the first time I saw Marshall Major 3 I thought it was a cheap twist on Marshall Mathers III! I am a Philistine). Anyways, most of the reviews I came across were extremely positive. Interestingly most of the reviewers admitted having received nearly 50 hours of battery life at 50% volume on a single charge. That, along with the no-cost EMI being offered by HDFC at the time was the deal clincher for me and I placed the order.

Received the product on time (Kudos Amazon!) and immediately tested them on. Here's my experience so far:

Build Quality - The minimalist design feels very premium and vintage. The straps are metal instead of plastic and the leather feels genuine (don't know if that is the case though). However, I really wish they had made the hinges sturdier. While they don't bend easily, the look somewhat wiry and that makes me really nervous. I am glad I ordered a hardcase by XCSOURCE together with the headphones. The earcups are also very well built and offer a comfortable feeling.

Sound Quality - I could immediately feel the difference from my previous headphones. Crystal clear sound at just 46% volume. The ear cups do a great job of isolating ambient noise (well, mostly). In fact, I never had to go beyond 50% so far, whereas with the creatives I had to mandatorily cross 70% and still hear all the nearby noises. Note: On day one, the headphones felt a little too bass heavy but with the time that feeling has gone away. I am told that it requires at least a week's usage to "burn in" these headphones, which is probably true because the sound feels a lot smoother these days.

Battery Life - The out-of-the-box manual suggests that you should charge these headphones for at least 6 hours for usage. I didn't really do that and started using it straight away. Now, I use headphones for at least 12 hours a day. Today is the third day of usage but I still didn't see a low battery sign.

Comfort - Here I have a minor complaint. While everything else is just great about these headphones, the clamping I feel is a little too tight. After a few hours of usage, you do start feeling the pressure on your ears. In fact, I had a minor headache after using these over 8 hours time (this wasn't the case with the creatives). However, I am willing to cut some slack on that given that these headphones are still shining new and hopefully, it will adapt itself to my comfort.

    Conclusion:

Overall, I feel that these headphones are well worth the price, in fact, perhaps even better than the price and you should go ahead with this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steal for the price

5.0 out of 5 stars Un son incroyable !
Reviewed in France on May 13, 2017
