Zoo Tycoon is the first simulation of a zoo, and the designers at Microids Entertainment did a great job with it. You take control of the fate of one of many animals that are kept in a zoo, where you have to help them through their lives and try to get them to reproduce. You will also have to care for the creatures you get as well, providing food, shelter and breeding. Like all other Zoo Tycoon games before it, Zoo Tycoon also puts the player into the animal's environment and makes them use all the tools you can find to make sure your animals survive. Even though there are a few obstacles in the way, getting your animals to reproduce successfully will keep you coming back to try and earn more money, which allows you to buy more animals and expand your zoo.

Zoo Tycoon features all the classic elements you would expect in a 'Zoo Simulator' game, with the cute little animals walking around, eating bugs, walking through fences and climbing fences. In addition, you will also be able to interact with the animals in some way, giving you the opportunity to give them gifts or train them in any way you see fit. In addition, you will be able to buy upgrades for your Zoo. Some of these include things like bigger cages, or better shelter. There are many options available to you as you progress through the game, and once you get to the later stages, the time will fly by fast and you won't have to think about starting over from the beginning. The game has many options, which means you can spend some time enjoying the journey, while later on in case you want to challenge yourself you can do so as well.

Zoo Tycoon is not just a time wasting game though. If you love animals then you will love playing this game. There is no point in trying to get more animals unless you plan on taking care of them yourself, and since the game is based on real life, you will find that there is a lot of responsibility involved. However, the game isn't just based around keeping the animals healthy, but it also gives the player the chance to interact with them and do some exciting things as well. This will help you bond with your animal friends and can earn you extra cash too, which makes the whole experience even better. It is one of those games that will stay with you long after you have played it.
