Material Notification Shade With Nougat
Material Notification shade, which currently has more than 500,000 installations, and Material Window Shade, which boast more than one million, enable users to customize the notification shade of their phone without even root. Both of these apps have been flagged as unpublished and unsafe by the Play Store on Christmas day. This is a big win for Google, as it meant that users would be able to use these apps, which are both very useful. Unfortunately, both apps have now been reinstated, but not to their original functionality. We've put both apps through the rigors of our testing software and have found that they are, in many ways, no different from one another.
The biggest difference between the two is that the former has full functionality on rooted devices, while the latter requires users to use an ad-blocker and is unable to work on non-rooted Android devices. It's important to note that this functionality is not available on rooted devices with the Kit Kat firmware, as many people are led to believe. As such, users who have this issue can only use the app on rooted devices - which unfortunately makes the app incompatible with a large majority of users. If you're looking for an excellent and unobtrusive way of getting your notifications, Material Window can be a great choice, and is the preferred option for those that want a cleaner, easier to use notification panel on their phone.
This application definitely has its drawbacks, as we found after testing it. For example, unlike other similar apps, the Material Window does not support a built-in flashlight. The good news, however, is that the developers have made many improvements since the release of nougat, making the overall experience better than before. In addition to this, users can now choose between a variety of themes, from light to dark, themed based on their individual user preferences. There's also an option for creating your own themes using the Image popup app, so you can easily customize so you can make your phone stand out. If you need a solid new look for your notification center, then Material Window might be just what you're looking for.
